Martin Mendoza brings over three decades of diverse legal experience to McGonigle Law, representing clients across a wide range of civil litigation matters. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993 after earning his Juris Doctor from UCLA School of Law, one of the most prestigious law schools in the country.

Martin began his academic journey at Santa Barbara City College, where he developed the foundational skills and work ethic that would propel him forward. He then transferred to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree before continuing on to law school.

Following his admission to the bar, Martin spent the first ten years of his legal career practicing in Los Angeles, where he worked with several well-known law firms. During this time, he handled a wide variety of cases on both the plaintiff and defense sides, including complex insurance defense, premises liability, personal injury, construction defect, and contract disputes. His versatility as a litigator and his ability to navigate both sides of a case made him a valued asset in every firm he joined.

After a decade of intensive legal work, Martin took a sabbatical to travel the world—a two-year journey that took him on a global surfing safari. This time away gave him renewed perspective and a deeper appreciation for problem-solving and client advocacy.

Upon returning to California, Martin settled in Santa Barbara and established a successful solo practice. Over the next 15 years, he built a reputation as a reliable and skilled litigator with a strong client-centered approach. His practice included civil litigation, real estate and contract disputes, personal injury, family law, and landlord/tenant issues.

Today, Martin brings his seasoned judgment and wide-ranging litigation experience to McGonigle Law. His balanced perspective, calm demeanor, and meticulous preparation are assets to clients navigating high-stakes legal matters.

Outside of the office, Martin remains passionate about surfing, travel, and community engagement.
